Synopsis
This session in EKC2018 is sponsored by KOFST (The Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies), and through this program supporting the next-generation science & technology leaders, it is expected that the network building and training of Korean young scientific and technological talents among local and overseas lead in creating a strong bond with each other. Also, the next generation of Korean scientists and engineers at home and abroad build a cooperation networking by planning and supporting various programs (e.g. research activities, start-ups, training, etc.) which can enhance the global mindset and capacity-building. In addition, the implementing programs such as research activities, start-ups, and networking will contribute to rear the next-generation scientists and technology leaders, thereby contributing to the expansion of the external environment of national scientific capabilities and international efforts to resolve the global agenda. Furthermore, it develops the public diplomacy by cooperation with the next-generation scientists and technological leaders at home and abroad and contributes to not only upgrading the nation's science and technology but also building a futuristic soft power platform.

Synopsis
Provide networking and collaboration opportunities for commercialization and intellectual property mainly focused on special interest group of scientists and engineers, private and public sector professionals between UK-Europe and South Korea. Overall scope of interests are: 1) understand or identify each commercialization stages’ problem & provide solution (e.g. technology push needs, corporate unmet needs - product concept define, prototype development, customer evaluation, product / technology spec-in, new market entry with existing product) , 2) share commercialization opportunity information, existing commercialization enabler infrastructure or scheme, and 3) identify detail needs for improvement from institutions and entities such as academics, public sectors and government institutions between UK -Europe and South Korea. For EKC2018, welcome to incorporate EKC special interest group topics and 4th generation industrial revolution related areas such as artificial intelligence-based commercialization and IP opportunities (e.g. artificial intelligence based medical imaging and diagnostics, etc) are welcome but not limited to. In summary, this session is to host information sharing presentation topics to collaborate and understand and/or identify the working agenda (e.g. expand their commercialization capabilities and IP assets) through KEASUK and EKC. If interested, feel free to apply for session participation with sponsorship from academic, private sectors, not-for-profit , and government institutions.

Synopsis
Through the academic or industrial research presentations of Korean women engineers and scientists working in Europe, in Korea or elsewhere, this session aims to give an opportunity of sharing research achievements and collaborating with each other. This session will be organized by EKWSEA and KOFWST will be invited to this meeting. KOFWST is a leading federation of women science and technology associations. EKWSEA (Euro-Korean Women Scientists and Engineers Association, founded in 2015) is nonprofit European association and is a cooperating member of KOFWST. The session will be open to anyone who is interested in the contribution and achievement of Korean women scientists in Europe and elsewhere.

Synopsis
KUMA & KMS Health Awareness Seminar KUMA (Korean UK Medical Association) is a non-profit organisation committed to supporting the community of Korean doctors practising in the UK. We aim to foster professional relationships and development, promote community support of Korean residents of the UK, and to facilitate networking relationships in medical research and training both within the UK and internationally. KMS (Korean Medics in Scotland) is a non-profit organisation founded in 2011 to help Korean communities in Scotland adopt a healthier lifestyle through Medicine, Education and Community Development. As an organisation led by doctors and medical students, KMS aims to deliver seminars and workshops to encourage the public and provide guidance and mentorship to students with an interest in healthcare profession. KMS is currently based in Glasgow and operates across the board of Scotland with members from Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and St. Andrews. For the forthcoming EKC2018, KUMA and KMS look forward to delivering a Health Awareness Seminar to the EKC2018 attendees and family members. We are privileged to have a great host of doctors in different specialities travelling from all over the UK to deliver the talk: Accident and Emergency, Radiology, Anaesthetics, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, General Medicine, and Foundation Trainee Doctors. We aim to educate the public on the following topics: 1. The National Health Service (NHS) 2. NHS Screening Programmes 3. Common Cancers amongst Korean Population We also plan to provide a free consultation to those attending the conference at our separate booth session. This may be affected depending on time and booth session availability. ----- KUMAS Medical School Application Seminar KUMAS (Korean UK Medical Association - Students) is a non-profit medical association representing medical and dental students of Korean heritage studying in the UK. Since its establishment in 2006 as KMDA-UK (Korean Medical and Dental Association - UK), KUMAS now stands as the integrated student body of KUMA. The primary mission statement of KUMAS is to facilitate social networking between the members in mind of promoting global professionalism in the doctors of tomorrow. KUMAS has been closely supported by our currently active graduate membership. For the past 11 years, KUMAS has successfully run the Careers & Information day for potential medical students on an annual basis. Previous student attendees have found the day extremely useful, with several going on to receiving offers from their respective medical schools. For the first time, KUMAS is providing this talk in Glasgow, and aim to deliver a broad insight into the application process: 1. What makes a successful application? 2. Personal statement 3. UKCAT / BMAT examinations 4. Medical school interview There will also be a unique opportunity to ask questions to current medical students of diverse background. As those recently having undergone the entirety of the application process, this event will be of an invaluable experience to those with an interest in pursuing a career in Medicine.
